What is the PDN? The Pearson Developers Network (PDN) provides API documentation, tools, and support for developers as they utilize Pearson product and platform APIs to create exciting and new applications for users world-wide. Through our API program, we want to enable our clients to build rich user experiences, vendors (or others) to integrate seamlessly with Pearson products, and developers to create unique or customized functionality or applications. A developer network is nothing new; any large company full of technologists and the drive to share their data via application programming interfaces (APIs) has a developer network of some sort. What makes the PDN stand out? The answer is in the vast products and product lines, educational platforms, materials, and data offered by Pearson.

What can the PDN do for you? More than ever, APIs are becoming an important aspect of development. Developers are being provided with better tools and more flexibility to create applications that can positively affect someone’s daily life. As the PDN grows, developers will be able to find not only one API set on a specific platform or product but a multitude of API sets from a broad range of offerings. Additional tools for testing APIs and getting set up sooner will also be added to the PDN. The community forums are also in place to allow developers to share information and progressively build a knowledge base to facilitate more rapid development. The possibilities of what you could create with our APIs is limitless and, overtime, we hope you will not only be able to embark on financially sustainable development endeavors but also motivate and encourage teacher and student success and enable innovation in educational institutions and corporations around the world. It is exciting to think of what applications utilizing Pearson APIs await us in the near future, and what will come to life from the imaginations of our collective developer community - applications that were unimaginable only a few years ago.

Why should you create an account? Without an account you'll only have the ability to explore the open APIs - but you'll be missing out on the true value of being part of the Pearson Developers Network. After you have your credentials you can request a key, report issues, participate in forums, and, most importantly, build innovative solutions. To get an account, click Register in the top-right corner of the screen.
